Dr. Ian Blanchonette has over 25 years experience in textile physics research including high performance sportswear, intelligent textiles, medical textiles, novel spinning methods, and fibre contamination. Recently Ian has been coordinating a CSIRO-wide research partnership with the Australian Institute of Sport to link the science capabilities of CSIRO with the sporting needs of the Australian athletes. Ian has a PhD in Physics from Monash University.
Dr. Stuart Gordon is a Principal Research Scientist in the CSIRO Manufacturing Flagship where he leads CSIROs post-harvest cotton research effort. Stuart has been involved in fibre and textile research and manufacture for more than 20 years, including time with the USDA Agricultural Research Service in New Orleans. His current research interests lie in new bio-materials, cotton fibre metrology and processing. He is an elected member of the International Textile Manufacturers Federations committee for cotton test methods. Stuart has a PhD in Agricultural Science from La Trobe University.
