Dr. Zhongli Pan received Chinese Government Friendship Award at a grand Award Ceremony held on September 29th, 2017 in the Great Hall of the People, Beijing. The award was conferred by Vice Premier Ma Kai. 

Dr. Pan was nominated by Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology for this award. He was recognized for his outstanding leadership and contributions toward international collaboration in research and education in food and agriculture. 

The Chinese Government Friendship Award is the highest honor that the Chinese government gives foreign experts who have made outstanding contributions to Chinas economic and social progress. This year, 50 experts from 21 countries received the award. Following the award ceremony, Premier Li Keqiang met all the award winners and their families. 

Together with Chinese President Xi Jinping, they all attended China National Day Reception on September 30th.
